Perfect and Still Not Right?!

This morning as I was huffing and puffing from demonstrating a follow-along workout on ZOOM I noticed that people were having video issues. Yet, I had the exact same set-up as the previous days where I had no tech issues. In other words, relative to the other days, which went off without a hitch, things were perfect (now we all know perfect is never achieved, but humor me).

Let’s look at another example.  My business, Kvell Fitness and Nutrition, was steadily building steam and growing.  We were building a loyal following of Kvellians, were one year into our second location and a month away from opening our third.  Everything was going along at a steady clip until COVID-19 struck.  Applying an immediate and abrupt tug of the reigns in the short term and possibly stunting growth for the foreseeable future.

It doesn’t matter how perfectly you plan something is likely to go astray.  This serves us well in the long run although can be painful in the short term.

I am sure it was painful for the Kvellians following along with today’s workout to deal with the glitches.  I was mentally frazzled the rest of the workout because I was lost in thinking about tech and user experience.

It is these glitches, hiccups, things going astray that force us to be uncomfortable and find better solutions.  It is how we progress from bad, to better, to good, to great, to unstoppable.  Whenever you find yourself in a pickle or are uncomfortable or something isn’t going exactly as planned do your best to get through it and learn everything you can from it.

A good quote to remember is, “Everything is perfect just the way it is and just the way it is not.”
