Why You Aren’t Doing It?

You are living your life the way you want to be living your life (whether you believe it or not) because if you wanted to be living it differently you would be living it differently.  Your knee-jerk reaction to this statement may be “no I am not!” alongside some anger, frustration, or some other unpleasant feeling.  You may feel that there are many things you want that you don’t have like more money, better relationships, a better job, etc.

The reality is your current life is the garden you have planted and are now reaping.  This is the life you wanted even if you didn’t think this is what you wanted.  If it is not then why did you plant those specific seeds?  We are constantly planting seeds for later reaping.  The seeds you plant today will grow into your future.

The thing about doing anything that is challenging, like most worthwhile things are (you know the things you want), we must have a meaningful reason to do them.  I have never met a person who did not want more health and wealth, but the reality is most people are fine exactly where they are.  You become accustomed to your current circumstance and dealt with it.  Sure it would be nice to have more health and wealth but without a meaningful reason to go through the struggle of getting there, nothing will ever change. This same principle works for everything in life that we may think we want.  If you notice that nothing in your life is changing, even though you may be putting in effort, then you don’t have a meaningful reason in place.  A reason that you truly believe in and care about enough to take the necessary and often challenging steps to make it a reality.

If you want to change something in your life then you must determine your meaningful reason why.  Your meaningful reason must be strong enough to make you want to replace negative activities with positive activities in relation to your wants.

Otherwise, maybe it is time to realize you are okay being just how you are.  Many times this is 100% A-OK as well.  It is your life and as long as you are not harming anybody else you have the right to live it exactly the way you want to live it.

What are your meaningful reasons and what seeds will you be planting today?
